A Message from your First Responders
Following 18 months of intensive review and outreach effort by the Future Task Force, the program and location of the new City Facilities is complete. The new City Hall will house our Fire, Police and City Administration, as well as containing new community room space.
The new facility will be located on Dielman Road north of the Walgreens. The six properties currently north of Walgreens are now under contract pending bond approval.
The Council called for a General Obligation Bond Election for the purpose of funding new municipal service facilities in the City to occur on August 5, 2014. The bond, in the amount of $13.5 million will fund the acquisition of land for, and to construct, furnish, and equip, a new municipal service facility to house a new police station, a new fire station, and a new city hall.
How might this impact your property taxes:
A House Appraised at $100,000
Has an Assessed Valuation of 19,000
Resulting in a monthly cost of $6.65
For estimated monthly costs specific to your residential property please see the attached document. The numbers used to calculate these estimates are taken from County records available on-line. Your exact payment is dependent on the actual interest rate at the time the bond is secured, the bond structure, and the County Assessment. Prop E Estimated Rates
