During the month of December 2020, the Olivette Police Department held a pet supply donation drive. In this year of unconventional methods, this effort took on new challenges and our community responded with over $1,000 in supplies and in-kind donations!
Over $450 of new supplies were donated along with gently used collars and leashes. On January 7th, Sergeant Robins and Community Engagement Officer Lincoln dropped off those donations at the Saint Louis County Pet Adoption Center where they were eagerly and graciously received. In addition to accepting practical goods and supplies for the donation drive, we directed those interested in participating to give to S.A.V.E., the 501c (3) organization attached to the Pet Adoption Center that funds the procedures and treatments to help stray animals ready for adoption. That effort helped to bring in $685!
Thank you for your kindness and generosity in this unprecedented time. The “Cops For Pets” program looks forward to partnering with our community again in December 2021, but the Pet Adoption Center is always in need of donations. Consider donating time, money, or physical goods to your local pet shelter.
“Cops For Pets” is an initiative that began in 2019 by (then Sergeant, now Lieutenant) Wood who has a deep love for rescue animals, fostering many dogs who would otherwise be in a shelter or euthanized. Lt Wood’s goal was to help a local entity in Olivette that could make a change in the region. This is the second year for this program.
