The City of Olivette wants you to be prepared as frigid weather and low temperatures are upon us.
This weekend brings snow and new record-low temperatures. Be aware that both sidewalks and streets can refreeze and develop black ice. Please proceed with caution!
Like most things in the last year, the weather has been different. Public Works has quadrupled their salt applications to melt snow and ice due to the extremely low temperatures. The City currently has a low inventory of salt and may choose to conserve salt by using minimal applications during peak snowfall rates. While the snow accumulation forecast is variable, we do know that extremely low temperatures will continue for the next seven days.
We recommend that you follow these guidelines while driving or if you choose to go outside and enjoy the brisk fresh air. Please contact Bruce McGregor, Public Works Director, at email@example.com if you would like to learn more about winter snow removal operations.
